She became a company member at The Celebration Theatre in Los Angeles and, eventually, their Director of Development from 2011 to 2012. It was there that Nell transitioned to directing, mounting her first staged production and a documentary called, If I Look This Good, Why do I Feel Like Shit.
She went on to direct and choreograph the original musical, Rock and Roll’s Greatest Lovers at The Lillian, StandUpera at The Actor’s Theatre, All Shook Up at the Morgan Wixson Theatre, and Anton in Show Business at The Hudson Theatre (LA Stage RAW recommended; Top 10). On the film side, Nell adapted and directed a short film based on Frederic Donner’s story LOVE, produced and directed four web series (Broke A$$ Rich Kid, Guber, The Hunt, and You. Me. Us?), and directed the short films Katie and Ben, Never Stop, Buddy, Tubby Hook, Flight, Pappy Hour, and Always Remember Me (Holly Shorts Film Festival Honorable Mention.) In March, Nell started shadowing in network television on CBS’ NCIS with Bethany Rooney and NCIS New Orleans with Jimmy Whitmore, Jr. Additional directing credits include Save to Draft at The New York Summer Theatre Festival in Manhattan and the music videos, “Lean Back Lover” for Gedina, “The River” for Jesse Madera and “Don’t Stop Mad” for Bishup.
